WHERE IS MY…? (And Other Questions We Ask)

WHERE IS MY…? (And Other Questions We Ask)

By Marc S. Axelrod

How many times have you asked yourself that question?

Too many to count?

Relax.  You’re not alone.

Who doesn’t get ready to go out and realize you haven’t got the one thing you need to take?

The question rears its ugly head, “Where is my (whatever it is)?”

You go on an all-out search for it, not telling you-know-who you haven’t got it (no need for that, yet).

You look in all the obvious places.  But let’s face it, that’s not where it’s going to be.

And it isn’t.

Where else to look?

Frustrated, you stop to ponder some more.

Aha!  It comes to you.  That room.  You head off confident it’s there.

Into the room you go and the second question stops you in your tracks.

“Why am I in here again?”

Yes, the dreaded “Why am I” question.

Don’t you hate it?

While you’re standing there like a lost sheep, in comes you-know-who.

Busted.

“We have to go.  What are you doing in here?”

Thank goodness it comes to you.  You answer proudly, “I came in to get something.”

“What?”

Problem.

What, is a tough one.

“You know, that thing she gave us to bring.”

“Who gave us?”

Uh, oh.

Yet another world-class problem question has shown up, the almost impossible “Who?”

You remember your first-grade teacher’s name, but no chance you remember who it was you saw yesterday.

“You know, the woman who looks just like that actress you like.”

“What actress?”

“What’s her name.  The one in that great movie we saw last week.”

“What movie?”

No idea.

You stand there speechless.  This is getting serious.

Is there anything you remember?

Of course, there is.

Brain cells, schmain cells.  So we’ve lost a few.  We’ve earned that privilege by lasting this long.

Call it a badge of honor.

We all remember what’s important in our lives.

When you stop during your day and think of your grandkids, it makes you smile.

That’s what remembering is all about.

Who cares what that actress’ name is anyway?

Not important.

But where did you put that thing you need?

  1. Good article, omega 3 oils will help. Did I ever remember a movie or lead roles? Nope ! And did not make one difference in my life so far.
